He Has Only Just Begun Poetry Contest-This Wonderous Place
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The whispers of the wind speak a language,
The soft, comforting touch of love on my face and body,
The fragrance of lilacs wafting through the air
Has caused me to revere this place.
I call it my oasis of silence.
Here, the birds sing their sweet songs of exaltation.
They toil, yet their voices are warbling
With melodies we humans can’t upraise.
To me, they speak wonders of reticent stillness.
Though tiny, they drown out a world full of sorrows,
Refreshing my soul with their beauty,
Like God sending answers to prayers.
The trees cast shade from the sunshine.
Yet, rays from its warmth still break through.
The bees search for nectar in flowers
As blossom by blossom, they busily clear.
These heavenly sights and sounds surround me.
Such peace they bring to my sometimes-burdened soul.
‘Tis the place where I leave all my worries and woes.
“God dwells in this wonderous place,” the wind whispers, “He’s in control.”
