My Childhood Home

This poem was mistakenly deleted my apologies .

Wild, natural, without care you
stand hidden, unnoticed, a secret.
Brambles briars bluebells dance
Wild flowers grow.
Haunted laughter, echoes of youth,
Carried by the summers breeze,
Our tomorrow’s and yesterday’s
Forever stolen, lost.
Dancing with angels, love leaves,
Foundations cracked our
Hearts ripped out,
No concealer to cover our age,
Past secrets, or imperfections,
Crumbling within, our souls decaying,
Forgotten love.
Rustic slates once dark, discoloured,
Lightened, faded by nature,
Shutters unpainted weathered,
Hanging loose, hinges long gone.
The stench of damp and partisans,
Paradise unkempt, last breath not long.
Remnants of days glorious glistened
Our imaginations leapt, now
Mourning, ashamed, its rafters bowed,
Back broken, brought to its knees,
Time unforgiving, grips, teeth clenched,
No respite, no redemption, a reflection
Of our shame.
For sale a heartbeat without a home,
Of loving memories I call my own,
Now someone else's dream awaits
And ours another path will take.
Separated never more to search,
Lost forever, what may have been?
My childhood home, lives in my past
Forever lives in my dreams,
Abandoned love.
