Her True Soul Was a Pirate Queen

Waltzing and gliding
Twirling and swirling
She stopped at the mirror
Laughed at her enthusiasm

It grabbed a tutu and put it on her.
She had not worn one in years.
Two stiff short petticoats of excitement later
She pirouetted, dancing on her toes through a thick forest

The trees bowed to her
She laughed again.
Feeling a power she had not felt in years.
Her true soul became a pirate queen.

She found herself wearing belt buckles,
Dancing through a swordfight,
Determined to get it right this time.
Laughter brought attention her way, in the throes of the battle.

The others stood back in awe
Watching the Pirate Queen dance
Across their ship, taking prisoners one at a time.
Captivating everyone with her enthusiasm.
