Rebel Echoes

Holding out on me, I see,
Never meant to pry,
Given tools to question,
One foot on the platform,
Fading sight.

Lost "need,"
Must I search,
What it means to be,
At least within me?

Flee from subjectivity
We're taking the bold approach
with "sticks and stones"
Our words are not to offend

Is it our lack of skill,
Before eyes that once studied so well,
Are we below you?
Have they forgotten common ground,
Or "benefit of the doubt"?

Quietly, I'm not trying to find a way,
"Let's go, rally the troops,"
We'll attack from the side,
Where they least expect,
Evidence from their past treads.

"Fight it, see through it!"
We can be a part of something
speak with the trees
hear their voices scream
I am closer than you think.

We shall never leave you behind,
Grateful for all you've shown us,
"Retreat" from wrong directions,
"Lay down arms," let's look into each other's eyes,
"Start the healing process."

Are we just wasting our time?
Behind the determined blindness
"Let's find shelter"
I have no one waiting on my return...
"Gather up the supplies
We will camp here tonight".
Failed orders...
Under the moonlight
