Weep

“Weeping is a door out of grief. Walking along the path behind the door brings relief.”
                       -Quote by Poet

Nothing else mattered,
She was torn and battered,
Life had shown her its awry side,
She wondered in whose embrace she would abide.

She lay on her sofa all day,
She wished time had paused yesterday,
She wished it had hidden her mother in its room,
She wished it had hidden her from the walking gloom.

Tears streamed down her eyes,
She became cold as ice,
She saw an emerging shadow,
It was walking through a shrivelled meadow.

Suddenly the shadow was haloed with a bright light
It pierced through the stygian night,
The shadow transformed into her mother,
She smiled at her and told her not to bother.

Weep not, my child, for grieving is for the hopeless,
Though I’m away from you, I’m not homeless,
Be strong for hope will lead you,
Soon you will be out of the blue.

Those were her mother’s parting words,
They were like piercing swords,
She sat up and smiled as tears flowed,
Her face brightened and glowed.
