Duggie and Spence
Duggie, a floppy-eared pup, loved lying in the sun
but running through puddles was much more fun.
He barked at clouds when he heard thunder roar,
while impatiently he waited for rain drops to pour.
Today, Duggie was happy to see the sky growing dark
and wagged his tail when he heard another pup bark.
He ran onto the porch through his new doggy door
and let out a howl when the pup barked once more.
They talked for a while through the back yard fence.
Duggie learned his new neighbor's name was Spence.
One day, Spence told Duggie, "You're my best buddy."
Always playing in rainy day puddles, getting very muddy.
