BABEL
BABEL
It was a tower, built to avoid a second flood
Erected in Babylonia, that Nimrod planned
Using bricks made from sun-hardened mud
It was to deny the power of God’s own hand
But to a proud people it made so much sense
A famous tall building that appeared so grand
But the presumption caused God great offence
So made many languages that few understood
Such that no communication made them tense
A punishment inflicted on all as only God could
So peoples now couldn’t understand each other
As their reach for heaven was not seen as good
Dispersed nations and a new obedient priesthood
As in time, all may even repent, as they should
