The myth of justice

I knew justice was a myth
The first time I heard about trayvon martin
Killed over skittles
His killer
George zimmerman
Acquitted
He became a celebrity
And trayvon
He became another statistic
Another black kid
Erased by the system
He didn't get justice

I knew justice was a myth
When tamir rice
A 12 Yr old boy
Killed for playing with a toy
He was a kid doing what kids did
But I guess that doesn't apply
When your a black child
His killer
A white racist police officer
Was he punished?
Of course not I mean especially
When your white and benefit
From the system
He resigned
Then a couple of years later
Was hired
As a probationary officer for a different city
And then resigned from that position
Imagine having the privilege
To kill a kid
Then get away with it
But still have job options
Because apparently when you kill
A black kid
You get rewarded

Justice doesn't exist
Otherwise I wouldn't be making this
Where somehow the victim
Is not the innocent black kid
But the racist who killed him

Justice Is a myth
Something I don't know will ever exist
Something us black people will never experience

I Don't think I'll ever find peace
Without the existence of justice
But the hope I Lost has accepted it
But I will never stop fighting
For equality
And no matter how tiring
This fight is
I will make it my mission to get justice
Because us black people deserve it

No justice, no peace
