White Rose to my Child

You were frail, frailer still your fate,
I wonder how fate-beguiled,
Your sad eyes must have looked for me,
O my ill-fated child.

And far away to welcome you,
No time had you to wait,
To get admired in father’s arms
On that ill-fated date.

Helpless as I’m to hold you to heart—
A newcomer in world,
Let me give just white rose, my child,
A bit frail now and curled.

Ye watching me with a pale soul,
In a time-warp’s wan wave
Amidst a pile of painful thoughts
I must carry till grave.

Two scores and more was long years back,
My soul pallid, parched pale,
What a sore punch time tends to pack,
Gust my feelings as gale!

And as I give this frail white rose,
Why, I do wonder wild,
To turn a new page and feel good,
Or pare emotions piled?
