PAINTBRUSH

PAINTBRUSH

Fingertips the bristles of a
pagan paintbrush
painting a Tree of Life
on pacified cheekbones
instead of in liver
from whence it sprung
now it burns to feed
HeartSpace with witty
wood for Eternal Fire

From cheekbones
it slid to jugular vein
which throbbed like
scintillating sciatica
all jumbled chaotic
timelines tangled in
spherical space sheets
birthing speculum
stars self surrendered

Paintbrush descended
into nipples radiating
a rosy rendezvous
renegotiating egoic
histories of blue blood
turned toxic
You chomped celery
drinking cappuccino

Bristles bogeyed across
into Fire of Heart
burning bubbling bobbing
eternally steady eyeing
pilgrimaged paintbrush
fire fidgeted fragrant
Would paintbrush make
crescented charcoal
find flotsam and jetsam
or create a hologram
crescendoed ?

As paintbrush midair
poised, binscratchers
marvelled at lucky loops
a dead man’s favourite
screwdriver, his frayed
fez, broken sunglasses
rumbled jumbled rippled
Levi’s for last laughter
two sunflower seeded
bread slices buttered
his face monk moon

An arena your Fire of
Heart theatre
binscrachers backdrop
sighing sky as brush
lifted gold leaf gauze
for what remains
paintbrush caressed
soft songs its dew
dripping into spleen
drops of chrysalis
sunshine somber

A madwoman masticating
masthead from marrow
with brushstrokes through
midriff into mons pubis
chastising chanting men
in black seeking a point
of consecrated connection
to furl frayed ends of
scalar screaming spikes
Earth to Heaven or
Earth-Heaven to
nothingness

Into kidneys brush
dipped cascading holy
waters chivalric chimes
frizzled falls to quench
Tree of Life
shaving splinters to feed
sparse simple innocent
pale palette pandering

Exquisite harmonic harness
my brush fingertips
no longer bristles
paint strokes become
elegantly static still
cappuccino cold black
ink on white-dry bones
spluttering spookily
spread across spell
bound body
tapestry trials tipsy
hill-curve mossy glutted
embankment engulfed
evanescently

No more grasping here
there come hither
confidently equatored
equalising
it is now chorally
poignant composing
silver nectar naked
strands harmonising
exalted emptiness
sticky sweet savour
pink per diem

As Thoth nods
assent I completed
a painted orchestra
Tree of Life in
blossomed beauty
