There isn't time for all this thinking
I'm full to the top
do you let off steam then?
shed unnecessary weight
to remain afloat
or in the air
just that little bit longer?
perhaps I'm overcharged
with a need to be earthed?
static is safe I'm sure

I'm sat in my coat
frowning at my phone
wondering about the magic of a cup of tea
thinking about that
'out of place' long line...
because order and rules
I'm not sure they quiet the mind
being 'perfectly fine'
doesn't settle me

I'd have to unpick the whole thing
to live without (w)holes
I just need to pick up
patch over
instead of finding threads
aaaaand pulling on them
ahh there's the newspaper lady in my inbox
asking when I'd like my poems published
I can choose apparently
month by month
or in the edition with the supplement again
I wonder if that's the same for everyone?

maybe that can diffuse me for today
