The Names of God
El Shaddai, Lord God Almighty,
Before whom fearsome forces take flight.
El Elyon, The Most High God,
Whom mortals applaud, and angels laud.
Adonai, our Lord, and Master,
Who rescued us from sin’s disaster.
Yahweh, The Lord Jehovah,
Whom angels praise with holy, holy.
Jehovah Nissi, The Lord My Banner,
Who orchestrated salvation’s plan.
Jehovah Raah, The Lord My Shepherd
Whose presence guards my every step.
Jehovah Rapha, The Lord That Heals,
Who gently soothes the pain I feel.
Jehovah Shammah, The Lord is There,
And helps me with my every care.
El Olam, The Everlasting God,
Who became man, and trod earth’s sod.
Jehovah Jireh, The Lord will Provide.
As sin’s sacrifice, He bled and died.
Jehovah Shalom, The Lord is Peace.
From sin’s curse, He did my soul release.
Jehovah Tsidkenu, The Lord Our Righteousness,
Who rescued me from sin’s hopeless plight.
The Names of God reveal His traits,
While we wait to enter heaven’s gates.
But for eternal ages, on end
Learning of God the time we’ll spend.
