A MORNING PRAYER
When you head out to worship today…no matter to what God you pray
Pray for whoever else is praying to live the basic teachings of their religion
that some have forgotten or abandoned along the way.
Pray for everyone to love everyone…in this country and every foreign land
Pray that everyone treat everyone with kindness and respect…
Pray when they see someone in need…they lend a helping hand.
Pray when they see someone hurt or injured…whether close by or far away
they will offer them assistance…Pray they won’t look the other way.
Pray that everyone do everything within their power
to enhance each other’s happiness…to ease each other’s suffering and pain…
Pray when they see sadness showering down…they’ll offer an umbrella in the rain.
Pray when they see someone hungry…starving
they won’t wait another minute…another day.
to offer them food to fill their bellies…
Pray they won’t withhold…or take their food away.
When they see people in need of medicine to help them heal…
or that will allow them to live another day
pray they will offer them that medicine…
pray they won’t withhold or take that medicine away
Pray, when the day is over, and you kneel by your bed to pray
You won’t go to bed knowing there were people in the world
you could have helped that day.
And if there were…
pray for the love, the strength and the compassion
that when you kneel down to pray tomorrow…
you will be the reason for their happiness…
not another reason for their sorrow.
