Hogging the Cover

Hogging the Cover

By Elton Camp

Every night, Ralph settled into a warm cocoon
However, his comfy spot would disappear soon

The icy cold of the bedroom, Ralph had awaken
And he would see the cover his mate had taken

“Hey, you have got all of the cover, my dear.”
But Ethel was sound asleep and didn’t hear

He would find a blanket and lie on the couch
Better that than having her call him a grouch

Finally, a solution popped into Ralph’s mind
Thus, a hammer and some nails he did find

The bed covers he tacked right to the floor
So that Ethel couldn’t hog them up anymore
