Full Glass

You came through quiet and refreshing like a gentle spring breeze. Far away enough from winter’s dreary wear, and soon upon us like the brightness of the summer sun. Just as days passed into years and years into decades, the time with you seemed to be a slow-motion blink, the kind where you have a second to take a breath in and open your eyes and then close them again. You came through with life abounding in a full glass of happiness, a full glass of possibilities, a full glass of hope of never giving up, never knowing the glass would be empty one day. That is what we hold now, the empty glass that was so full of you. We turn our attention to that quiet and refreshing spring breeze as there you will live on forever. It will be in the times when life drains and the glass seems to ready itself in toppling over, we hold it firm and pour more until it becomes full. In doing so, not because we are all knowing because that is what you taught us. Your legacy will be of blue-sky eyes and a golden shining heart. It will be a legacy with a vessel so full you couldn’t help but get poured upon in your presence. No more days under the sun with you, but an eternity filled with your quiet, refreshing gentle spring breeze. Ah, Eternity the word itself evokes never-ending sunshine, so it is where you came from and where you always belonged. We were the ones so fortunate to stop that breeze that came our way and hold it in our time and space, knowing a breeze must flow and move on, so we will let you go for now, but in standing amongst the joy of spring, the birds singing, the flowers blooming, winter far away from its dreary wear, there you will be quiet and refreshing with blue sky eyes looking at us smiling because the glass is full.
