Eternal Flight of Thanksgiving

Eternal Flight
David J Walker

Gaggles of geese
Cross the faint light from the
Three-quarter moon in the east
Gliding
In the ancient art of landing
Perfectly on the smooth surface
Of the pond
Between the house and the
Nearby highway

The last of the fading light before
Thanksgiving Night sets in

Sensory space
The place where I can
Truly count my blessings

Let my prayer begin with the
Chorus of geese
Bedding down for the night

Eternal flight
Calling me home
navigated by
the coming moonlight
