VooDoo Ranger

'nother heartbreak
sorry
I'm all red flags
and warning labels
 ...yet she tried
not all my fault
but it's a pattern

I think I might
until I know I don't
some brutal honesty
I squirm free of the noose
and put 500 miles
between us
before I stop for the night

at some nomadic campground
I'm stirring the embers in the
dying light
pondering
what it all means

my love
she says I lied about

well it was blind
until it opened its eyes

now out of her arms
and into my five dollar folding chair
nothing but my VooDoo Ranger
for company

staring out over that vast sea
of loneliness
strumming my ukulele
...singing softly
"Can't You See"
