Hidden Portrait

Dear secret, have I depicted your story?
Can I finally now lay you to rest?
Please understand,
I never bid farewell,
Esteem I cannot forget,
From mutual feelings
shown through quiet years,
How I miss thy company
ever fleeting,
Subtlety forever maintained until known ending,
Left wondering
if it was perceived as intended.
Do not blacken my past; it's a sign of respect,
So I do ask,
"Mysterious," am I testing fate?
Paying homage, unable to lower the brush,
I have to capture her right,
to do her justice,
Contemplating the foreboding trail,
To a family I loved once so well,
Now looking at "heart," once again,
Whether I need to anymore, know it's in admiration.
I would paint each and every one of you.
Remember when?
I cannot break free,
When taken from my hands for whatever the fee,
Cannot replace the memories that have begun to haunt me.
I cannot allow to lose anymore
whether seen or not,
Listening to the soul the "heart" blocked,
should have stuck around,
Forgetting the potential one saw,
Knowing it took longer to see, within,
A portrait of beauty,
Display of regard,
Imprinted,
Something the heart cannot erase
no matter the strokes,
Interrupt me
they're becoming endless,
I need this painting gone before it gets ruined,
Why, oh secret of mine,
what was the true reason why I started?
To move on.
Li amerò fino al mio ultimo respiro
do not tell me you never knew what my soul projected
I can stand proud for it is this secret painted
shall be my everlasting halo
