Ode to Self-Esteem
O, Self-Esteem, elusive, fragile grace,
A quiet strength that lights the inner space.
No gilded crown, no trinket bought and sold,
But inner worth, a story to unfold.
You are the root from which true courage springs,
The steady hum when life's harsh discord rings.
Without your touch, the finest talents dim,
A whispered "no" before the race begins.
You don't demand perfection, flawlessness,
But a kind gaze that sees true loveliness
Within the cracks, the stumbles and the fears,
A gentle hand that dries the bitter tears.
You teach us boundaries, a sacred line,
To honor needs, and truly to define
The self, not by the mirrors others hold,
But by the stories deep within us told.
Through trials faced and victories hard-won,
Your light emerges brighter than the sun.
A quiet knowing steadfast and profound,
That in our being, precious worth is found.
So let us nurture you with tender care,
A precious seed we strive always to bear.
For in your bloom, we find our truest stride,
And walk the world with dignity and pride.
