Propelling the will to strive soaring high
Midst inspiring words for celestial fly
Poetry springing from the depth of heart
Enlivens hope against worthlessness’ sigh.
Exposing realities of word-paint
Verily presenting truth without taint
Bringing enlightenment glow to the mind
Advocacy poems stir up with “Don’t faint.”
Creating vivid scenes for soul-delight
Indeed exuding bliss of love so bright
Uplifting poems hoist kindness to reach out
With friendship-warmth kindling fellowship light.
Midst liberty bursting out bounty-gain
Proclaiming serenely, “The Lord does reign”
Divinely exalting poems prop worship*
Beautifying life against woe and pain.
Along free verse or rhyme’s melodic flow
Driving toward spiritual go and grow
Gratitude poems expose faith in action
Praising God to radiate prayer glow.
*Psalm 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.”
