White privilege
White privilege
The ability to exist Without fear
The ability to walk down the streets
And not jump at every siren
To not calculate every move
And overthink every word
Because in out world
Our existence gets us killed
And in your world a red carpet is rolled at your feet
Your privilege ignites your ignorance
And in a world where all your needs are catered to
You are lucky enough to get a choice
Of freedom
Of rights
Of the ability to not care about anything that doesn't affect you
Who else benefits from white privilege
Non other than non black poc
Because they are closer to white than we will ever be
After all when push comes to shove
They will choose white over black
Because people will always gravitate to power
And with power comes security
So it's all man for himself
Until everyone else needs help
Then all of a sudden we want to protect ourselves
Then we are labelled as the selfish ones
Privilege is an asset few can only have
Like an elitist club only a few can join
And if you're not one of them
You better watch your back
After all it is an exclusive club
Where white reigns
And black is used as an insult
And where compliance puts you on the vip list
Unless you're black
Made to rejoin the line at the back
And if we had a problem with that
Well if history has told us anything defiance is not an option
