JUST LIKE ANY OTHER DAY
JUST LIKE ANY OTHER DAY
January 1st, a canvas of contradictions
Special ointment, blessings, and expectations
A night before, a crossover, a threshold to eternity
Or just a mere tradition, a philosophy of men?
In the grand tapestry of time, what sets it apart?
A biblical significance, a divine spark?
Or just a faint echo of a long-forgotten past?
The Passover feast, a contemporary mimicry
A January 1st that gathers, praises, and sings
But in the silence, I hear the whispers of doubt
What makes it different from any other day?
The singing, the dancing, the accidents, the deaths?
The debts, the romantic affairs, the unforgiveness, the hatred?
The utility officers, health, and security personnel
Carrying out their duties, just like any other day
In the monotony of routine, I search for meaning
A glimpse of transcendence, a whisper of the divine
But it eludes me, leaving only the echoes of my soul
A yearning for something more, something that makes it different
Perhaps it's not the day itself, but the heart that beats within
A change of heart, a shift in attitude, a transformation to begin
A journey towards lawful living, productivity, and self-reliance
A path that winds and turns, but ultimately leads to transcendence
