Intergalactic Colonizer

“History, is a nightmare from which I’m trying to awake.” -James Joyce

A burnt blonde freckled white man stands in a white bathing suit
With red raw blistering hands
Stranded in an exotic archipelago
Shipwrecked on a blinding white beach, for weeks
Brain bleached
From flying too close to some dying star

The man sends stagnant radio waves through a useless gizmo
Failing to transgress any sort of didactic message.
He pitches a rusty red lawn chair into the land.
Sitting, he exhales, and cracks a cold one,
Settling his stinky toes into something else's sand
Only to watch the sunset on humanity for the last time.

Once his drink is finished and the ethereal light fades,
He stakes a white flag attached to a big stick,
Its point dripping with glowing green blood
Afterwards, he retreats to the comfort of his newly apprehended man-cave
