Mothers day
I have an old tin box beside me
In it a pencil and rubber
A picture of a willow tree
A note from my mother
Written in pen and ink
The words with age faded
I would like to think
Still well stated
Dear son it reads
I have gone for a while
With the birds and bees
Save me a smile
In the shade of the willow tree
Watching the children play
I save a smile in memory
On mothers day
