I am the King of My Time
I leave my phone places on purpose
Wanting my privacy
Others waste precious time
Running to their phones
Spending their time doing what others want them to do
Not me
My phone is in the house
When I want to call someone, I will go inside and turn it on
Until then, I am the boss of it.
It is not the boss of me or my time.
I am outside, sitting in a meadow, listening to country sounds
Robins, wrens, now a long low steady train whistle
I feel contented, sated, satisfied, refreshed.
A tiny bug has crawled onto my arm.
I smile at this teensy creature,
At peace with how I spend my time
