In Love - For Kate 2018

Love does not float above the clouds
it burns
it seethes
it desires
and with all these finger tips
these lips
their love can express
do willfully so
and a throat can howl
and a beast can yearn
and all tenderness within its claws discern
make of passion a feathers caress
on your skin
but still in heat regardless and rapine

Love does not have its feet ground in earth
it floats above the clouds
it glides in a spiritual serene
it considers and takes stock of dreams
and ponders the anticipation of unity
it carries me
gentle
to the hedonism of my soul
and in the heart
and unburdened dances
turns all its rhythms to the rhythms of love
to flow from one
and into two
and whispers constantly
the name of
you

Such is love
by corpuscle and time
of fate
without choice
and by some ephemeral design
made it so
and forever return to the song
the theme
the warp and weft in the weave
of love
brings forth its tapestry of life
I confess
I am weakened and strengthened
by love

Beautiful City of Shame

Woe to the bloody city
it is full of lies and rapine
the prey departed not
the noise of the whip and
the noise of rattling of wheels and
prancing horses and bounding chariots
the horseman mounting and
the flashing sword and the glittering spear and
a multitude slain and a great heap of corpses and
there is no end of the bodies, they stumble upon their bodies
because of the multitude of the whoredome
of well-favored harlot, the mistress of witchcraft that sell
nations through her whoredomes and families through her
witchcraft, woe to the bloody city
how dreadful of you
your hands are filthy, you wear shoes as hard as a gong
whom you step on breaks. your heart is as hard as steel
your eyes sees only hurt and death
OH! precious city where does your beauty lies?
