The wind waits for no man,
Nor tarries on steps of his fortune.
The tax man equates his ledger,
Ever wary of time that brings him none.
Great cities multiply and refuse to listen,
As pushcarts, filled with hubris,
Paint the sky with longlived hope for
change.
There, above the laws written by man,
Unicorns, resplendant in ivory coats,
Wait patiently for seasons to bear fruit.
At last, as soldiers march into battle,
God protects what man cannot see.
And all the righteous must abide,
'Till winds once more,

Refuse
To
Die

There; in the waterfall,
 I join many tears.

My tears pour from aching knees,
burdened with hearts of solid gold
preaching equality; from voiceless
leaders.

Panhandlers, clutching symphonies
in four lines, covet

corners that prey upon my
peace- just their day job.

Every check-out has a glass jar on
the counter; seeking tithes for

lost humanity, messages carried on wings
of doves; perched upon the waste

of capitalism.

Pushcarts; fleeing swarms of drones,
fear the key-stroke, a thousand

miles away.

While twitters and tweets stare from
vacant eyes, entombed in halls

of congress.

I smile too; red dawn is upon us,
and sunrise brings the tides

of truth

that will flood

every

shore

of

tyranny.

Premium MemberThe Vikings Dream, a Northland Story

Waves crash with word from Scotland
Warblers answer with yawning skies

Rocks washed up from last night's storm
Blaspheme glory, fought for Rome

Pushcarts filled with bravery tell
Of battles waged, regret for sale

Winter scoured laws they passed
Before the titles pressed in clay

Gulls enjoyed a calm sea float
While Ravens spoke in lightning bolts

Far out to sea, inside my mind
Lilies dance and pour red wine

I'll pay two- pence if you will sell
That spruce bough's dream
The Vikings tell

When I look out, upon this earth
I see a land, that smiles with mirth

And when she smiles, back at me
I'll know my dreams

Rest

Peacefully

People of the Lower East Side

Hasidim, Chinese, Spanish
Many residents of the area
    fall into these categories
The streets are alive with memories
of pushcarts, peddlers, politics
The people of the Lower East Side today
revel in their history
You can get a great bialy, great egrolls, or
"arroz con pollo" in the area
Men sit out on benches playing dominoes
Children run happily under fountains
Scholars study in the House of Sages
When darkness covers the area,
lovers kiss under the streetlamps
As I head to my home on the Lower East Side
I feel touched by the magic
that has made this area famous

defy gravity,

defy gravity,

claim your slip,
secured by unseen spirits

many times, your journeys have fed asphalt to your
dreams, lifting highways above simple paths.....

now, the end has been seen many years before,

small children know!
they look at you and smile

small children know........

they look at you and smile

only pushcarts burdened with lies,

drown in tears.....

ice cream taken in small amounts

is as close as I will get,

                             close,

                                    as I

                                            will get
