Unresolved
lacklustre sky
confronting iron sea;
Hesitant horizon disconcerting me,

Grace hurls a show,
Reach for the seed;
Align with flow,
Nurture this need;
Define clear sight.
Plant a fond gaze;
Reap poise that lights,
Observe that haze;
Sense a firm poise,
Ply a fine trace;
Express with voice,
Claim a new space;
Thrill in the fact,
Sow sensuous tact.

Scary Retirement Prospects

Scary Retirement Prospects

By Elton Camp

The working people of today have legitimate fears
Of being unable to retire and enjoy Golden Years
For a long time, when folks got to be old and gray
They could expect a pension from funds put away

If there are still jobs that have benefits like that,
They’ll soon be gone in an economy that is flat
If a Social Security check is all that they’ve got,
Will find beyond bare existence it won’t do a lot

The house needs repair and things break down
The money needed to pay for them isn’t around
So, will they have to sit on their porch and stare
Or to help them, will there be anyone to care?

Premium Member Prospects of Rain

Gray cobalt clouds form
Striated with light in places
Rope like twisted clouds

Is this a true sign
Of rain coming down today
Mother nature lies

Uncertain Prospects

Is it possible to yearn for love’s scrutiny?
Without ever having seen your face
Is it possible to long for the presence of beauty?
Though never been blessed by its grace
Is it possible to see a future so bright?
On a path that so infinitely seems
Can you picture us naming the stars at night?
As we journey on roads paved with dreams
Is it unwise to hope I’ll land on a cloud?
After hitching a ride on a rainbow
Is it senseless to walk on air so proud?
Without knowing just where we must go
Am I foolish for trying to emulate stones?
While skipping ‘cross ponds and lakes
Can I think with my heart and ageing bones?
While either might buckle or break
Will frailty be our guiding companion?
If timelines on our faces show
Ashes and dust holding hands in union
Till the end as we travel and grow
