Uncertain Prospects

Is it possible to yearn for love’s scrutiny?
Without ever having seen your face
Is it possible to long for the presence of beauty?
Though never been blessed by its grace
Is it possible to see a future so bright?
On a path that so infinitely seems
Can you picture us naming the stars at night?
As we journey on roads paved with dreams
Is it unwise to hope I’ll land on a cloud?
After hitching a ride on a rainbow
Is it senseless to walk on air so proud?
Without knowing just where we must go
Am I foolish for trying to emulate stones?
While skipping ‘cross ponds and lakes
Can I think with my heart and ageing bones?
While either might buckle or break
Will frailty be our guiding companion?
If timelines on our faces show
Ashes and dust holding hands in union
Till the end as we travel and grow
