Ick spraeke kein Deutsch.
but i’m on a roll
of the dice,
to attempt to understand
a few phrases,
a little buzz.
mein Prinz -
he knows a little. he lived
in Germany, once upon a time.
I don't want to be dim.
I press on, past the thirty second
ads (they’re persistent)
Don’t give up.
Everyone knows a little. Perhaps not
how to spell.
This app is called Duolingo. Will it do a little
for a ding-a-ling like me?
mein Mann -
his Tanta Karen und Oncle Walter
will speak English to me
but I’d like to speak some Deutsch
to them…and listen in.
Mango also is a great help - free through the library.
I’ll never be a hyperpolyglot, but i’ll no more,
than not! You have to know at least six
languages (Do they say fluently?)
I know a little French, Spanish, German, Greek,
English of course and a little geek ;)

_My offering_
This poem is coming from my heart
The things you do make me want to shout
I bring this poem my offering unto you.
Accept this poem and let it please you.
It was December, I still remember
When my grandma said in her prayer
She asked you father to light a fire
In my heart that will change the world
You answered and put a poem in my heart
And this poem that you put in my heart
Has turned the world around
And your poem is now a burning fire
A poem of praise and worship unto you.
It was a great night, when the preacher
Called and asked all the young boys
To step out for praise and prayer
And when we all stepped out
He then asked you Abba Father
Use this young boys and change the world.
You answered his prayer, gave me a poem
This poem you gave me has turned
Turned the entire world around to worship you.

Mein lieber Prinz Ncholaus,
Was fuer ein Traumhaftes Bild.

In Defense of Frederic Prinz von Anhalt
By Elton Camp
Have you ever heard of this man before?
He is the ninth husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor
About him we now hear but little good,
But maybe it is high time that we should
First, to be a prince he has made no claim
“Prinz von Anhalt” is his legal surname
He says that he likes to play the aristocrat
But just exactly what’s wrong with that?
When a German princess lost her son,
Was when the adult adoption was done
Of the Pincess’ son he had been a friend
Her attention she had every right to extend
His actual status remained as it was before
He was called Robert Lichtenberg no more
German royalty was abolished years ago
And he has repeatedly told the public so
True, he seems to like publicity and fame
Given the chance, most would do the same
Seems to me that he’s a fun loving old coot
One who knows how to make his life a hoot
To care well for his ailing wife he is trying
We all plainly see that Zsa Zsa is now dying
So let’s give the man a little bit more respect
And from him perfection, we shouldn’t expect
