Holiday Seasons Cheers

Season of giving is here for all
naughty or nice it does not matter
fun laughter joy and a lot of chatter
singing in front of a tree so tall

Season of cheering is here for all
bringing in the new year with fun
no matter the location, it is done
raising glasses as count down call

Two holidays where most come together
holiday season that brings the most cheer
no matter the choice; spirit, wine, or beer
unity out weighs any forecasted weather

Being present during the holiday gatherings
for those who enjoy the holidays cheer for all
potlucks only, but most stomachs take the fall
same time next year in if anyone's wondering.

Premium MemberLisa took a Risk

Lisa had never lived alone, she did not know what to expect.
I am scared, she admitted, alert and self-circumspect.
She left her fiancé’ and his baggage, of which there was a lot.
Moved away to Wisconsin, arrived at two o’clock on the dot.

Had taken a risk and landed in a wonderful place for her.
Now has new friends who are the same age, who know the cure.
They get together for dinners, luncheons, potlucks and other stuff.
She advises single living to everyone, there is no longer anger or huff.

Premium MemberPraying For Prayers

They take over the lunch room
Making a huge display of praying
Keeping their heads down
Loudly praying

The rest of us do not roll our eyes or anything
These are the same women who never bring to potlucks
Yet fix two plates extra for their families

We do not say a word
But I suspect many of us pray for them
Even the ones who do not get a plate
For we almost always run out of food
before the non public prayer's lunch shift.

Premium MemberThanksgiving Day

I love hanging around family and friends
on Thanksgiving Day.
And the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade on
the tv.
The amazing aromas of the food just fill the
air.
The table is sat, The golden Turkey, stuffing, gravy, Ham, Mac and Cheese, Collard Greens, Dinner rolls, Cranberry sauce, Cakes, Sweet
Potato Pies and assorted drinks.
Then we say grace, and go around the table
and say what we are thankful for.
But due to the pandemic of COVID-19 Thanksgiving isn’t going to be the same this
year.
It's almost like the special day is canceled.
The government officials are suggesting that if
isn't necessary, don't travel on an airplane.
There has been a surge in new Covid 19
cases.
Families all over the world are missing their families, and tremendously.
This year has been filled with a lot of heartache and pain.
We must celebrate Thanksgiving differently this year.
Some are having zoom potlucks, creating new
ways to celebrate.
Although this year has been very bleak, there is still much to be thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving from me to you.

Premium MemberOverworked Witches

What's a single mom, overworked witch to do?
School potlucks won't suck up fat vats of witch brew
Green goop soup disinfects science projects
Magic wand deflects coupon blonde's rejects

Soccer field congealed, frogs in fish tanks
Your warlock son mocks the jocks with dark pranks
Your daughter barters love potions, your cat's a Clydesdale
Your cauldron is maudlin; no time for witchy cocktails

There's hearses to disperse, fortunes to curse
Restless pests - even witches need a nurse!
You've cobwebs to thread, graves to rake
Sugar greedy goblins to scare straight

No spells to swell your apothecary
Your broomstick's picked other places to be...

Premium MemberI Am Juggling Machetes

I am juggling machetes
There are rhinos on my toes
Raccoon and opossum are on the porch
Growling.
My teeth hurt my gums.
I am wishing they were gone.

A Mack Truck has come down my driveway
Or there is thundering outside
I don’t care which.
My toilet is perpetually making dripping sounds
Is this driving me any nuttier than I have been all week?

Who is coming to save me from this warped mind?
This mind that is afraid of her own closet?
An imagination that does not dare
Look under the bed?

Where is my exotic, inspired, dangerously handsome super hero?
Why am I the one who brings the meat to the potlucks?
I am juggling machetes and there are rhinos on my toes.

Premium MemberThe Best Is Yet To Come

She was diagnosed with a terminal illness and had just a few more days,

Yet, she was in good spirits, joyful and her heart was filled with praise!

She got things in order and with her pastor discussed her final requests,

The songs to sing, her favorite Bible verse and distribution of her bequests.

Her last wish stunned the pastor as he bent to hear what she had to say!

"In all my years at church potlucks as the dishes were cleared away,

Someone would always say, 'Keep your fork; better things are on the way!'

That was my favorite time because I'd seen the many goodies on display!

Wonderful things and with substance such as luscious cherry pies,

Or velvety chocolate cakes; oh, so many things appealing to the eyes!

So, pastor I want to be buried clutching a fork in my right hand,

'Cause I know that 'better things are on the way' in The Promised Land!"

"What's with the fork?", folks wondered as past her casket they filed.

The pastor knowing her last request kept it in his heart and simply smiled.

So, next time you reach for your fork and life seems a bit humdrum,

Let it remind you, oh, ever so gently, 'that the best is yet to come!'

Killing With Kindness- the Road To Temptation

When a man
hates the world soo much
and it is publicly known....

Isn't it society
whose job it is
to kill the demon with kindness?

charity
and parties
and gifts
and happy smiling we love yous

Whean a man hates the world soo much
it is public knowledge
doesn't that mean he hates himself
so therefore killing him with kindness is like torture
and the greatest act of kindness is allowing him to do something kind for
someone else
even if it is himself?

Look at Marilyn manson
Look at Aleister Crowley
look at Ozzy osbourne
did we kill them with kindness
Britney spears
did she do it again?

when someone hates themselves or the world
and it is publicly known
is it societies job to kill them with kindness and how so?

potlucks?
surprise holidays?
ceremonies?
serenading?
and alas when they realize they have become the joke!
the joke where they plan to fail

when a man publicly hates the world
and knowledge of you killing with kindness is publicly known
who throws the first stone?

here i be dressed in suicide
dancing in the mud on valentines day asking why don't you love me?
