Premium MemberFolding Time into Origami Blooms

here I stand waiting
balanced on the edge of time
past draped at my back
the future creases forward
a bloom yet to be folded

creases cross the sheet
the past bends, then re-creases
future folds to match
both entwine though never meet
a puzzle time enlightens

like petals rising
origami takes its form
each wedge takes its place
a flower blooms in the room
unfurling in happenstance

paper remembers
each valley, each mountain path
trails of where I've been
ghosts of futures not yet lived
hidden in the pleated sedge

tilted polygons
wedges stacked in helical
time loops on itself
a structure both flat and vast—
endless bloom of folded space

each crease is a breath
a moment held in silence
each fold, a new path
unfolding from edge of time—
flowers blooming come alive

Premium MemberSupine, Looking at the Sky

Three times it happened, all connected,
Transcending time and space,
Ignited by the key ingredients -
A tree and sky above my face.

Looking up through skeletal winter branches,
The leaves had dropped off of each bone,
The third time I was with a cherished friend,
The others, I was alone.

Rock 'n roll poets played the stinging soundtrack,
Very clear, yet very low.
The second time the music played in my head.
The others were the stereo.

Above, a patchwork of blue polygons,
Each a different shape.
My eyes traced the branching borderline.
What I'd caught could not escape.

Those bare boughs and branches were the border
Of my roots in the earth below
And the greater spiritual universe
As time was moving slow.

I was no longer lost, no longer running,
Gazing skyward, I was found.
The quiet energy in me was stunning
As I looked up from the ground.

I saw that I was sad, but not bewildered.
Yet, too, I was wild, and I was free.
I was young and I was old, feeling bleak and cold,
But I was real, and it was me.

O geometry O geometry how lovely are your angles!

make sure to sing it nice and loud
so they ALL can hear it!!!

Worlds Colliding

Here I stand once again
Can't care if the words flow anymore
Nostalgic overload blows through my shell
Staring out of an old window

Where did I stand?
Head down, staring out of the old window
Teacher cleaned the blackboards as gentle winds blew
And the kind sun shone upon the trees outside

Only five at the time with no knowledge of the outside world
In such a short time, it's all changed so much
Pixels have become polygons
And VHS has become Blu-Ray

Now here I am
Pale gray skies crying down on me
Eclipsed by my failing generation
Time fascinates me so

She stands before me
Do I run? Do I stay?
I'll grasp at thin air a thousand times before I get my answer
Past, present and future all crash together

All
I
Can see
Fades away
In this darkness I
Cannot be bothered
To find out why I
Cannot breathe

Welcome To the Parade

Welcome to the parade
Where lost souls and memories
Come to gather

Everyone wants to enter
And everyone wants to leave
But only the entrance is free

It’s all black and white and Technicolor
Pixels and polygons
Where the old collides with the new

Take a ride on regret
Have a bite of introspection
And be sure to take a picture

And when all is said and done
Pay up your exit fee
And have a safe trip home

Tricksters of a Memory

I love polygons even as they are irregular
Within the tangled space and time
Rich angles become decisive corners
Tricksters of a memory

It was tender congruency at first sight
Delightful and captivating solid cubes
Even as they drooped into prisms
As they vanished into hues of essence

They trembled at degrees of tender touch
Fear not trapeziums of death
Dread not time exhumed from a tomb
She falls in upright squarish

Die, pentagon, rest hexagonal pretty rod
Wither on decagon fading acuteness
Oval memory is with cylindrical insight
Beauty weeps bulkiness of the volume
