Premium MemberGenius and Madness of Van Gogh

van Gogh did not have to sign his work, it is immediately recognizable
he had a petulance for utilizing emphatic pointillistic brush strokes
van Gogh danced to his own flute, giving away all of his worldly goods
“they think I am a mad man because I wanted to be a true Christian”.

He had an up and down life, but his downs were deeper than most.
His paintings, signed Vincent, exhibit a madness that exudes a rare brilliance.
He was an artist who threw his feelings into every canvas he painted.
An artist who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, unfortunately.

THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE without grammatical symbols the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and respond thus making the form a two way interplay and often a unique interpretation by the enigma so derived

SYMBOLS OF SUNDAY

The Ille de Grande Jatte sans noise
filled with poise,a posie-in-paint.This
divisionist dog-day,a second of time
frozen in mime;a slow-motion frame
of a social game. The Seine sleeping
sailors boating,youngsters rowing
a lady fishing.trumpeter trilling,dogs
sniffing midst sunshades swishing.
A promenade peopled,gentility
strolling,watching,then,standing
still,and,taking their fill.A leisured
moment from toil,passitivity
possessed dressed yellow,orange
with green and complementary blue

Autumn's Last Leaf

Before the biting arctic wind
autumn's last leaf helplessly clings.
Other leaves, less tenacious
lie wet and matted
beneath the season's first snowfall.

Nothing shows of summer's pointillistic canvas
save the occasional fir tree and bramble.
Winter's pen and ink simplicity waxes gray and white
to show the landscape's ebb and flow
in chiaroscuro light.

In the cold of winter the luckless suffer
the impatient perish,
yet here and there
the tracks of bird and rabbit
show how life goes on.

If autumn's last leaf were to weather wind and ice
and snow and feel again the tepid balm of April-spring,
it would surely come to naught
for nothing dead can cling
before the swelling of a tender bud.

This sudden revelation
Image
That stark forgotten white

As I stand gazing
Through an olive green scrim
Beyond the damp and dusted mist
This Seurat shower of pointillistic heads
A sudden crowd
A noisy crowd come to life
With music of the spheres
The dance along each bough
Fancy to hear
Distant
Each small voice
In riotous cheer
Spring people
