Placeholders Poems | Examples

The foundation of power

The absurdity of the lies you convince yourself of
The lies that we are the problem and your not
But your envy betrays you
The one thing that you want But can't have
Our blackness
Your colonisation skills have failed you
After all its the one thing you can't take from us

You're so full of hatred
You erupt like a volcano
Except its hatred you spill
Trying to burn of our skin
It's why you try so hard to instill
Inferiority in us
Something you have always felt within
Don't force your insecurities onto us
We are not placeholders
For your hurt egos
We will not carry the weight of your burdens

We are not your slaves
It's why you feel threatened
When we stand up for ourselves
Because you don't have us to parent you
To be slaves to your supposed superiority
Because deep down you feel inferior to us
And even deeper down you see us a superior
Because no matter what you throw at us
We end up victorious
Because we will never back down
And that is our power

Premium Memberdescent and ascent

up and down like a jo-jo
the mind flits in opposite motions
causes doubt and delight
hardly ever rests quietly

and yet sometimes it reaches
moments of clarity
no sound disturbs its tranquility
visions fall upon an empty canvas
all senses merge into one

it is not reason nor emotion
but a meandering spirit
and when ebbs and flows
touch each other’s caress
the soul divines a powerful moon
creates a transcendental journey

thoughts are merely opinions
foisted upon us by social demand
propping up the Ego’s false needs

feelings however valuable
can be illusions
when no truth is to be had

without light there is no darkness
in symbiosis they create one
with shades of grey in between
picturesque extremes
glorious attempts of reality
breathtaking placeholders
of universal forces
that entice us to breathe in
and out of Nirvana

Words

Seem made to

Describe..

A word to

Describe indescribable

Cannot be found

So any word

Might provide a

Placeholder

For no place...

Placeholders for

The word not said

And unsayable:

Nothing

Beloved

Everything

This

Not 2

And so on..

Placeholders without

A place to hold...

Premium MemberA I Poem

I cry between the lines, A.I. verse this will never be.
I defy the artificial assembler of words to impersonate,
to predict this in living color.
Absent from its language database is the driving arousal,
the hormonal passions defining my mind.
It can’t know the meaning of hunger or the rush of adrenalin.
It has never felt a sex drive or experienced an ******.
Conditional A.I. can perform automated reasoning,
Algorithmic rules like a script for a puppet.
A.I. words are hollow placeholders applied according to a
logic of learning supplied by humans.
A.I. will repeat the learning routine until it masters the task,
playing chess or imitating a poet.
Artificial Intelligence never feels joy or grief,
never sleeps, weeps, or dreams,
knows not the flavors of ice cream or potatoes,
lacks any wonder in the beauty of a spring day,
cannot comprehend my primordial span of fervor.
Despite the fatalism of high-tech CEOs,
our extinction is a choice.
Lacking agency or sentience,
A.I. robots are no threat to the human race.
