Mother of triplets

Picture prompts Nursery Rhymes only poetry contest - Eve Roper, Image 4
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quote: “You don’t scare me. I have triplets.” — Anonymous

Wait Bigfoot Wait

My kids are in bed
They might be dreaming
I’ll wake them up gently
Getting them afresh I
hurry to cook pies in plenty

Wait Bigfoot Wait

I run around kitchen to
Fetch creamy custard
Serve them with kiss
A joy to see them gobble
All alike in bliss

Wait Bigfoot Wait

I run to the window
Get the dried clothes
Dress them up great
To take them to school
Never once late

Wait Bigfoot Wait
…………………..

It’s ok, it’s ok, you
A mother of three
You be busy, I love
Your kids, cute and rare
I’ll go away at once
You take care.

Steadfast

This is a revised version of one of my previous poems on 'Friends'.

Friends are like gems precious,
rare to find, pure and gracious;

Friends are like butterflies charming,
cheerily fluttering in the garden of our lives,
persuading us to positive perceptions,
with their wings of hope gleaming;

Friends are like glossy stars, steady and bright,
embossed perfectly with their yellow-white,
to the dreary dark velvet of our minds,
adorning them with eternal sparkles of light,
inspiring with their deep insights,
each one unique of it's kind;

Friends are like the filled pages
of the year-end autograph book,
filling our minds with myriads of memories,
as its letters of teen fragments eagerly you look -
a glow of warmth reflecting in your smile;

Friends are like the poetic picture prompts,
waking up our slumbering souls
with creative instincts anew,
to pen fresh verses on 'Life'.
