Perspicuity Poems

Premium MemberBefore the Euphoria of Surf

loose, lacy, white - a flowing blouse
the muse left clues in green-gray eyes
an outlier near the lighthouse-ocean
the seabreeze salty and windswept
foreshadowing of quill and paper

before she knew what to say
before the euphoria of surf
leapt up and touched her fingertips
before she learned to grasp
shadows and shapes, beyond the pale

moon and muted sun
dandelion seeds and towering
sunflowers kissed the blue sky
she’s a mere child, shy and unseen

seeded by the realm of poets
that came before her
the unknowns with journals
antique paper with vanishing ink

the poets with landscapes
that look out of their lighthouses
and see potential
perspicuity, peculiarity
themselves as a child

and open the window
let the little girl get a taste
of ebb and flow, pen and ink

Glass - a Clear Mystery

A symbol of vulnerability
with implausible durability;
master at misrepresentation,
a bolster of modernization.

Praised for its lucidity,
nowise for its amorphicity;
such is human disposition,
seldom beholding composition.

A motif of permanence,
marking time’s impermanence.
Encapsulating sand and time,
an hourglass, marking life’s chime.

Made to be admired,
Only to be called 'uninspired’.
Its perspicuity appreciated by the unaware;
coloured, its vibrance ready to ensnare.

Weened to be understood and known,
yet, only misunderstood and unknown;
for such is the mystery of glass,
unable to be deciphered in a single pass.

Shattered and broken oft,
only to be restored aloft,
never seeming to age;
such is beauty when taken from an age-old page.

Behind us, lay five millennia of innovation.
Ahead, shall lie an eternity of appreciation;
for it is important lessons that we learn,
when observing Nature and her glassy urn.

Premium MemberSardonic Whimsy

In a constant game of deceit and request.
Where the whistles of steam are dribbling.
Hoots in light of my cynical eccentricity.
Where a reflected area of stars sparkled.
Mirror the perspicuity of my pain.'
There I am, hanging unstably in the air.
I was quashed in a fog of moist regret.

Premium MemberI Was Livid the Day They Offered Me the Nobel Prize

This letter arrived this morning..
"Dear Sir, it is with great honour to inform you
That with the perspicuity of realistic narrative art
And the diversity and universality of myth
Your work illuminates the human condition in the world of today
You have therefore been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature
Cheers, you're the man."

What audacity
To disturb this idiosyncratic taste bubble
This stun and cut bluestocking

My 35 second play
My mango tango d drops
My surgical quality

I ain't getting on a horizontal float wheel
Stockholm can screw themselves
When reprobate blackguards are inferring

I'll stay here
If there's a need for shooting to start
I'll start shooting

Fun bags and polluted cities
Round off my morning, honey
Time for a tea

Medieval queens used to drink pints
I'll 'ave two for breakfast
I am not for sale Stockholm

Captain Hook went to Eton
I've got my bachelors
Leave this knack mental giant alone by-blows

Brick Walls

Brick Walls

One may present some facts,
completely indisputable.
These are soon dismissed,
as being quite inscrutable.

Presenting flawless logic,
with greatest perspicuity
is immediately rejected
because of ambiguity

One may cite, eternal,
laws and codes and precedents.
"That's as well as may be,
but still it shows no evidence."

There'll be no revelations.
No change of hearts appear.
Debating is a waste of time,
To those who will not hear.

Abuse

You alienated her
 Because you felt Capricious
She wanted her feelings to dissipate
But whenever you spoke to her
Those feelings would gravitate back
You flattered her and she fell for it again
 You in urbanely hurt her
When you blackmailed her
You malignant human
How do you still love yourself
Your intentions lacked perspicuity

Don't Tell me you used me
Don't tell me you hurt me
because of some transitory phase
You abused me
You blackmailed me
I was your scapegoat
