A beautiful, colorful day elicits fantasy,
beginning with a dawn of tangerine-hued sky.
Envisioning a monarch’s wings fluttering,
into the sky with poetry I fly.
Lovely mellow noon offers pink quince
blossoming beneath a sky clear blue.
I imagine strolling with my love along a lane.
Romance, along with nature, blooms anew.
Radiant sun tumbles unabashedly violet
into its deep, mirroring, rippling sea.
I picture myself as a purple starling.
Winging beyond the horizon, I flee.
Lucid moonlit night opens pensively
as if it were a muse in a robe of bluish-gray.
One of myriad stars I now become,
wishing from Dreamland never to stray.

So many pearls before the swine
He didn’t know which to pick
So fell asleep and dreamed to fly
Straight up to some Alpean peak
There he took selfies, drank high tea
And then he flew back home
Down to the native piggery
Where one day he was born
His dream was suddenly cut short
No pearls around he saw
He yawned and in surprise he snored
Chewed pensively a straw
He thought “if I were not a swine
A butterfly I’d like to be
On multicoloured wings I’d fly
This time towards the sea.”

"My heart pulsates to the tune of your music
You make the vibrant silence in me so unique" - by poet.
The tired eyes look pensively within
at the tranquil depth of introspection,
mind’s turmoil ebbs in quietude,
ripples of serenity roll on soul’s silent shore.
In the perpetual cacophony of life,
when the frenzy noise fades into calmness,
the rhythm of emotion disappears
in the desolate depth of the still mind.
When the outside commotion subsides,
the echo becomes the sound of silence,
resonating with the hymn of harmony,
the melody pulsates in the symphony of bliss.
When in the quiet hours of the dawn,
sunburst colors dance with my heart beat,
chromatic intuit tinges the quiet feelings,
I am suffused with the cadence of silence.

They loiter, smoke pensively, whisper low.
some pace the thin snow
writing mist clouds that look like thoughts
roaming the night air.
All of them shuffle, wait and watch.
If the sky topples from the stars tonight
those who wait in the cold,
those watchers will still be there
for they're the dark silhouettes of myself
darker than any night they are.
Those forms are cut outs,
spectral representations
shaped by many a listless memory.
Long night vigils when I slept not
but somnambulantly waited
eyes glued to nothing.

I made a nurturing nest for them to grow up secure
Kept it warm in the days of frost and chill of winter
No blasting blizzard could ever blow them away
For I kept them in the protected fold of my wings.
They attained the adulthood with my love and care
As father I guided them to face life in their chosen way
Imbibed in them the passion to foster kindness in soul
The process built the edifice of parental performance.
The effort lasted till the time when they all flew away
Turning the threads of bond into strands of memory
I keep the few feathers they left for me as a treasure
In residual time I weave tapestry of accomplishment.
A forlorn traveler traversing the last mile in twilight
Look back pensively at the deserted nest in debris
But I’m proud that they’re what I wanted them to be
Content birds of free will soaring high in another sky.

Dripping petals in gilded droplets unfold
Cascading down from trees like waterfalls
Densely packed on branches, bunch by bunch
For nature’s generous gifts, pick more than one.
Flowers like huge dangling earrings from the sun
Giving final touches for all colors of spring time
Curtains of twigs pensively drape to expand
Oozing rich showers of happiness at every glance.
Golden showers abound especially in spring season
With its royal color celebrating the healthiest bloom
While we sojourn under an umbrella of its throne
Balmy breeze crowns us with vibrant confetti gold.

Pensively I ponder upon meanings that make me wonder
Are we bodies with a soul or souls in a body?
yet why do we box it up in glorified golden invisible cages?
making it feel like this is what it was meant to be?
How can my soul be courageous when she is limited to ideologies?
Should she not experience roads less travelled?
The risks of the unknown, meeting new goals
Exploring new horizons that holds mystical meaning.
My soul must be free to feel new energy
spread love and meaning to every organism
There mere liveliness and enthusiasm of soaring with no boundaries
the overwhelming experience of love, laughter, and zest of just being.
So, then when did this conform happen where we are chained to boxes
of worshiping sun, sea, mountains, and imaginary faces.
Stories of fear and banish should you rebel
How this came to be, is so hard to tell.
So, when death comes calling will our souls still have a religion?
or does the next realm hold no such meaning
We are all one, spirits just soaring
free, wild, brave, and every other character you stopped in the name of discipline or religion?

A team of Japanese scientist check their watches
agree, but cannot agree on the date to reveal
what they are hiding now from curious eyes.
Without the ability to look
through a time-telescope. I cannot figure out
what they are up to.
Archeologists have discovered possibly the first
Black Forest cuckoo clock. It has been authenticated,
but I don’t know by whom, and the cuckoo
is silent.
Bits of history have been magnified out of all proportion.
Future flowers wither on their stems before we
get to see them.
The front of the train never sees the caboose.
Perhaps the past and future exist on parallel lines,
perhaps the Cheshire cat has forever lost its smile?
We keep repeating unlikely tall tales
until we have to believe, even if they are
and always will be,
just theories.
I don’t know what will become of tomorrow
when today is so distracted by its place in the line,
and we wait pensively
for time to discover that we are really
not even here yet.

Fanciful Image
A golden crescent necklace
Adorning a cobalt sky
Creates a placid prayerful scene
And pensively I sigh...
If only everyone could see
Such scenes the way that poets do
Surely their minds would feel calm
And tranquility would ensue.
But this is merely poetic fancy
In a world beset by tribulation
Such whimsy is not often shared
By the general population.
So, I'll store this fanciful image
In my heart for beauty's sake
As I traverse this turbulent life
May its vibration follow in my wake.

Laughing water flows gentle
Against smooth stones
Whispering softly, soothing
Like a smile projecting love
Wishful sun glowing pensively
Erasing the morning dew
Brightening my life with hope
For a new day, a fresh light
Careful breeze blows hesitantly
Breathing hope to the mind
Who knows that this kind melody
Raises praise from the heart
Miracles from the earth cry out
Silencing the gasps of longing
From those who know no faith
Designing sighs of amazing grace
Prayers murmured from naked souls
Coloring the spirit in tender joy
Lavender, mauve and shimmering golds
Blushing sparks of creativity
Inspirations from tree and bird
Silence even the heart’s shyness
With clever songs of delight
Capturing peace and bringing insight
There is kindness and truth within
Where generosity gives again
Hope, faith and love that is endless
Brought to life by God’s brilliance

Two hearts estranged, walk pensively
Their hands don’t touch and eyes are glazed
Talking in monosyllables
Mere gestures of noblesse oblige
A common friend creeps upon them
Tip toeing barefoot noiselessly
He holds two feathers in his hands
Impishly tickling each in turn
To cadence of silent rhythm
His flute plays a quiet love tune
Flood of memories engulf both
Something shifts; hearts begin to sing
Ego thoughts fade into the glade
Boundaries blur, both become one
All that remains are loving hearts
Seeking an endearing embrace
Casper, with nod of approval
Melds with the void, vibrational

Strewn upon the shoreline, as I traipse along the beach
Bits and pieces of life forms, churned up from beneath
Shells, jellyfish, crustaceans, a mix of sea anemones
What was alive yesterday, lies dead between torn weeds
Take a second to absorb, let these observations sink in
No creatures other than humans, came here to think
Many have walked this path, perhaps went for a swim
Now I only see gulls, pulling starfish limb from limb
Sitting pensively upon the sand, drawing in rigid breaths
I ask God, what’s life all about, come on please confess
A voice in my head speaks, people are the chosen ones
I’ve witnessed this very moment, before our universe begun
Still nothing was ever planned, when all is said and done
I see what’s going to happen, you’ll decide how it comes!

Revelers loiter in my backyard,
smoke pensively, whisper low.
Some pace the thin snow
writing their slow thoughts on the chill earth.
All of them shuffle and wait
for the big glittering yell
and the last minute kisses of reprieving angels.
At midnight I am not sure
where my thoughts will land
it is too cold for bat flights around the moon.
When this year topples into the next,
if not too weary of watching
from the top of my plasma screen,
I will crouch like a comic book gargoyle.
As the bells ring out
I might crack one gothic stony faced sneer,
listening stoically to ‘auld lang syne’
sung by roving bands of reapers.

There are places and events
that are unerasable from memory,
such are the indelible memories of Italy;
no other country was given more
beauty than my Motherland
created by God's artistic hand:
the majestic snow-capped Alps,
the pristine shore washed by rolling waves...
these all tune into Nature's song of harmony
which praises her forevermore!
This wonderful land was chosen for her fertility,
huge fields of golden, waving wheat
that I ran through with incredible joy,
enormous meadows of pretty daisies
either white, pink, red, blue and yellow
protected by mountains echoing with the sheep's bleat;
were they frightened by the wolf's bellow?
All of the panoramic views that the Motherland
offered were so delightful to admire:
seas reflecting serene, cerulean skies,
pristine beaches with crystalline sand,
hills lulled by gentle breezes, valleys shaded by lofty pines
and under them, I pensively sat to contemplate and smile!

Man argues about the meaning of life
a man argues about the meaning of life
looking out at the world around him
catching the love of his life
bound by her chains of love
surrounded by danger
he hides the entry to his heart
in a green garden?hidden behind the hedges
planted in the last days
of the month of May
Make no mistake
he pointed out to his love
as he sat down on his naked rump
He shot at the devils
sliding out of hell
filled with giant teeth
the world is soon thick
twice the devils come at him
twitching from too many drugs
trying to kill him with their hellish vapors
pensively 101 prompt use the following words in a poem argue, bloom, catch, chain, danger, entry, green, heat, hedge, last, may, mistake, point, rump, shot, slide, switch, teeth, thick, twitch, vapour.
