Out My Window
Out of my window I see
A long road stretch its legs,
Strutting before me
Into a place where the horizon
Retreats into mirages of sand
Where only arid grows,
Face pressed up against oriels of spider’s webs
As stone dust and brown
Retreat into whirlpool pirouettes
Nomadic harbingers
In sky scraping cirrus blazing –
Tumbling raucous and rolling rumbles
Harvest sunlight into the scent of rain veils,
Sun and storm casting kaleidoscopic chroma washes
In epiphanies through revolving casements,
Arching wonders reflect upon a windshield,
A rainbow falls on rainbow chasers
In a consummating cocoon of colors–
Living tableau moving at highway speeds –
Till sun and storm bid adieu closing my window.

Sky Colors
Yes, there are clouds.
They come in every color
of the rainbow.
Then the rainbow adds
her own beauty,
unique all until herself.
A lovely promise
given to us by God.
Then there are the birds.
They are the candy sprinkles
on the wind,
that move gracefully,
with purpose,
only they know.
Red Cardinals
Yellow Oriels...
All are seen today.
Even,
many multi-colored Humming Birds,
visiting off and on,
eating breakfast at the feeders,
and later,
lunch on the porch
with my husband and I.
The bluebird, dances...
on the fence line,
taunting the sparrows,
with steps of his own design.
The robins watch from the fountain,
taking a shower, and fishing for worms,
in the dirt and mud.
These are only a few,
of the living crayons in the box,
God has sitting on his desk...
somewhere in heaven.
I love the way the Lord draws.
