Do you hear it? Do you hear the nothingness
Not a single word, not one solitary word at all
So that a teardrop sobs in the void of emptiness
Dogwood leaves scream as they plummet and fall
Did you say something? I would hope you did not
Why would you break the noiselessness of serenity
Disturbing the pressing brain cells from a thought
Like muting the sound of a full orchestra's symphony
The whisper of smoke billowing from a rolled cigarette
A beating heart so loud as to wake up the sleeping
Wiping away the silent fear and the smell of sweat
The drooping sound of willows and magnolias weeping
The tongue-tied echo does not return when you call
Flames as they vainly struggle to survive in wet weather
The dragging a snake makes when it slithers and crawls
Job's friends were respectful as they sat calmly together
Allow me to nestle in my quietness and learn to embrace it
Acknowledging silence is golden and is not open to debate
As a grateful patient seeks repose in an intensive care unit
Escaping the chaos and the confusion is well worth the wait

in reflection
I often contemplate my life
and open the iron curtain of time
and wait in unbroken silence
for past images to appear that still haunt me_
but recently in the deep hush-hush and stillness
I question my rumination_
is it possible these memories are not mine ??
in quietness
and careful consideration
of my childhood tragedies- I wonder
were these even my memories ??
but the result of stories told over the years
that became real from constant repetition_
grandma was a storyteller
and even mom told a good family story !
in noiselessness
and quietude of memory
I have death- grief of my own to ponder
thoughts that now dwell in my adulthood
and these are my own sad memories and sorrow !
time taught me tranquility and serenity
and the peace to accept what is
and the strength to leave memories not mine behind_

In deafness can be heard
a hissing, ringing tone.
The power of which dominates
all air, distance and occupies
the sound proof room in
faceless, painless texts that conceal
the voice behind the deal.
Never touching ears...no one hears.
We wait for the beep,
signal, song or just plain siren
that says, you may listen now and
possibly speak to one another
breaking the thick glass that
maintains our muteness.

You're bent out of shape
There are holes in those shoes that you can not replace.
Gaunt like the tree branch you rode through the storm.
You release your fount of harsh tones
That will surely repreive your sarcastic charisma.
The angst building a citidel of noiselessness inside
The capital refund of your minds unease
As if all spirit inside of you
Has all but deceased.
You are not the jolting entity
You were made out to be
But I see the preson incognito, beneath the flashing neon
Lights of the discotheque that reigns sovereign over
The other androgynous evening rendezvous'.
Don't shroud yourself in the pseudo substantiality
Of your undeniable accomadations.
For who is the creator?
