In deafness can be heard
a hissing, ringing tone.
The power of which dominates
all air, distance and occupies
the sound proof room in
faceless, painless texts that conceal
the voice behind the deal.
Never touching ears...no one hears.
We wait for the beep,
signal, song or just plain siren
that says, you may listen now and
possibly speak to one another
breaking the thick glass that
maintains our muteness.

When there is hearing loss, there is tinnitus, a hissing sound in the deafness.
