Many, many years ago when I was just a kid
Life was miserable because I was so small
I was the perfect victim for every bully around.
When I decided to go into the military
They said, "You are too weak, you won’t survive,"
But I was determined to show them I could.
The day I raised my hand and was sworn in
I crossed the Rubicon, declaring my intention
To learn the skills I needed to make a good life,
Free of bullying, harassing, and utter strife.
That day I also decided to become a champion
For every person who is put down by others.
And so, I am still standing up for the little guy.
I have no patience for those who belittle,
Who get their “kicks” from throwing shade
Finding their joy at the expense of others,
They think their prejudices make them strong
I am here to say to them, “You are so wrong!”

It's new years eve or bonfire night.
Veterans hide away in fright
They fear that they may crumble
As the fireworks start to rumble
Even if there tucked up in bed
The flashes and bangs mess up the head
Hot sweats, and uncontrollable shaking
It isn't fun that it's making
Some just say your a party pooper
Join us when were in our stupor
The nightmares start, flashbacks come
Yet again everyone have your fun
These actions cause much distress
Some more than others I confess
The symptoms mentioned before
Cannot hurt them that's for sure
But in their head It's like being back
On the edge under attack
Rounds and rockets whizzing by
That is why they break down and cry
Organised events aren't so bad
As that's a choice that can be had
Its the ones that go off Willy nilly
There the ones that make us silly
Spare a thought at this time of year
Bang less fireworks won't cause fear
So use these types if you can
Think about that veteran
It's not just them this affects
It even frightens house hold pets
I'm not trying to stop your fun
But think about others it needs to be done

Go for a walk to clear your head
Life's to short to stay in bed
When your feeling really low
Get outside feel the wind blow
No matter what walk of life
People suffer with troubles and strife
It may be no job or money for rent
It may be you feel your life is spent
But hear this you can get through
Many others feel just like you
It's all about occupying the mind
Staying strong the answers you'll find
But most of all don't keep it within
As this is truly a mortal sin
It will eat you up take away your strength
So find someone and talk at length
Positive mental attitude needed
Your a human not inbreeded
Focus on the small things first
Otherwise your mind will burst
Each day your strength will overcome
And you won't feel totally outdone
Finally believe you are really strong
Life challenges can do you no wrong

shall I wake or lie down so that my enemies shall rejoice?
Shall I let them chants victory songs afar in their hiding places?
they mock me every hour whenever their toughs wiggle,
their mouths are a palace of deceit guided by hooligans,
if I wake up they mourn and peep on their shadow of darkness,
strengthen my legs that I walk and not stumble on their traps,
enlighten me that I see with eyes blazing fire like eagles,
let me see the beyond the horizon of the earth
and lead me to the precious path
where only the heart sees
and dwells.
Amen.

When Freedom Call’s
July 3, 2015
~ + ~
When you hear the call to arms
Are you that one that will answer its call?
You see freedom comes with a price
You must be willing give it your all.
*
Oh, freedom has a hunger that most don’t even know
But ask a soldier he’ll tell you the cost;
He has seen the price of it up close
Because he and his buddies always walk their post.
*
Not everyone is met be that type man
There are few who can answer the call.
Yes they are the brave of brave,
Who are willing to give it their all .
When freedom makes her call…
