I am unsure if there's some general word I am going for, but it best fits into the mix, and that would be, 'inspiration.' Having that said ... straight to the heart of the matter ... my mom.
Self-driven, accomplished, multi-talented, advocator of The Word, loving daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother, aunty, grand and great-grandmother, and lastly, not a stranger to people kind of a person, more like, "Is she your mom!", kind of a people person, ... and kind too.
Her talents beyond The Word were in music. She plays any musical instrument, from a tambourine to an accordion, and the organ to the drums. Practically everything in between like a harmonica, but her ace was the ukelele and guitar.
She composed hundreds of songs, wrote all the lyrics and accompanying medleys.
Today, her compositions grace many churches in the country, besides Hawaii, since she traveled a lot being an Evangelical minister.
If it wasn't for poetry, I'd be a 60's year-old kid who never had a mom.

Rains of world's zillion drops
Ounces of jubilation and madness
Drains the clouds' teardrops
Bounces in invitation, not sadness
Rains over trees and heads that greets
Medleys in bees and hearts that sing
Pains healed when the sun and moon meets
Chimneys of hearth eject and bring
Rains of summer and misty skies
Skylining like rainbows before twilight
Drops of wonder flitting like dragonflies
Drizzling, soothing the hearts of the night

She sat for hours
Needle in hand
Stitching in silence
Inviting medleys
She stitched together
Hues happy and glad
Brilliant and vibrant
Inviting medleys
She threaded her needle
Gently with patience
Taking time to create
Inviting medleys
She laced each stitch
Careful, a caress
Against soft fabric
Inviting medleys
She pieced each square
Rectangle or triangle
Together with care
Inviting medleys
She gave her heart
To the pieces she sewed
Weaving hope with her thoughts
Inviting medleys
She held out the quilt
Sensational dreams
Blowing on souls
Inviting medleys
She gave them away
Pieces of her love
Graceful praise
Inviting medleys
She was always laughing
Alive with compassion
Filling her stitches with light
Inviting medleys
She wove love and hope
Into her quilts
Delighting spirits
Inviting medleys

As the simmering soup lets out a dreamy aroma of spices,
The scent wafts through the nose soothingly,
Leaving the lungs with lively flavours,
I guess that explains why we were bouncy.
“This soup treats a cold”
Grandma usually said while serving,
All the children could not withhold,
The joy of visiting grandma in spring.
Her huge pot seemed bottomless,
Yes, she never bought a smaller pot,
On the dinner table, the soup brought a sense of closeness,
The kind of love that cannot be bought.
As I slip in the memories,
The side of my mouth subtly curls up,
Summing up the thought of copacetic spring medleys,
And taking the soup in place of the syrup.

I love the sound of your voice
My heart sings when you speak
Turns into symphonies and orchestras
Of sweet melodious bliss
That when my ear tastes
My inner joy swells and abounds
Like a river in spate
Unfettered, deep, and resounding
Fresh as the medleys of life
That feed from infinite vastness
I love the sound of your voice
It is soft as doves, captivating and beautiful
Granted to hear now and ever after
Through morning, noon and night
Summer, winter and spring
Then I would gather each sentiment
Like lilies and toss
Each scent that is hope and peace
Upon the bed of my soul
Where the voice that I love to hear
Would come to me with angel kisses
And be my lullaby.

Discernment often resembles a fable
When translating the language composed by women
As tantalizing as these creatures may be
Various medleys of gestures so fallaciously are given
On certain occasions it appears that
One’s efforts have been green lit
When so suddenly red flags are discovered
Dancing amidst the clouds
Gradually the entire project
Grows to be eminently disheartening
Women, the puppeteers that they reflect,
Behave as if the universe
Is a ******l duplication
Although society may deem that laughable
The results of such callousness
Quite strangely are familiar…

I invite you to my window,
Where forks a path you may never go
See that garden there bursting with blooms?
It is yours, but you must only look,
Sit in my boat, but please do not row
It grabs holds and doesn't let go
Great things happen outside that window
The brownies there sing joyful medleys,
Their allure entrancing and deadly.
They whisper come, but I must say no
And out there their world is aglow,
Out there they only reap and never sow.
Saw many a-sovereigns in flowing capes
A stones throw away from dusty drapes
It pains me that I may never go
As you gaze outside my window
Forging conniving plots utterly low
Sure, you may break the glass and climb outside.
But when you breathe in that garden ever-wide,
Will it be what you hoped?
As you gaze outside my window
Longing for more than to watch the plants grow
I bid you, please, to simple gape in awe.
And take it for what it is; a silly law.
Simply stay,
Simply cope...

My past transgressions
could have led me to negative aggression
released by a smith and wesson
or some other deadly weapon
I instead chose other directions
to expand my minds compression
To escape certain depression
every table served with medleys of lessons
At a young age I was handed more answers than questions
altercations
transparent affection
So I chose my own brethren
multiplyin my stressin
And many a greasy experience
Did manifest
but self respect
kept me in check
I came correct
The Lord protects
I pray for one dusk till dawn
with no blood upon
This world were on
A night so long

Lying in bed, I close my eyes,
Unable to drift off to sleep;
I rise to open the windows,
Allowing the cool gentle breeze to fill the room.
I lye back down and my mind rushes.
I listen to the night sounds
Soothing my restless mind.
I watch the trees dancing in the wind
Like shadows in the sky,
Mesmerizing my mind.
I hear the chimes play their medleys
As they sway in the wind,
Relaxing my mind.
I smell the night rain
As it gently falls with its pitter patter,
Refreshing my mind.
I softly whisper,
“Thank you Father, I love you”
As I finally drift off to sleep.

I long to sing a song of future prosperity
For years to come, filled with fruitful seasons
Quality and quantity
Legato lexicon
And pianissimo phrases
That…
Feed the mind
And soothe the soul
With therapeutic enhancements
And emotional release
A song of the utmost elegance
Where we waltz to its up beats
And we tango with its tempo
Impeccable intonation
With heavenly harmonies
And melodic medleys
A song of the new age
The re-invention
The reincarnation
The rebirth
Of music
A long awaited evolution is on the way
Sooner than later,
But still…
Eventual
