Neighbor,
A miracle you are
Your democratic smiles
Expel my courage
Whenever you scatter them on me
Could you stop without negotiated conditions
I want peace!

Surrender to love.
Let whomever go.
Have the courage to continue to live.
And know that you were brave enough to try to love, even with the puzzle pieces you did not know.

Courage
Glorious passage
Temptations deflected
Faith in solitude reflected
Soul above all tribulations and pains
Rock over multitude of grains
Living daylight that grows
Fortitude sows
A king

A big whiteboard fills you, me and space.
We hover around with markers in our hands
And squeeze courage to make lines on the
Plane. How heavy the marker is and how
Dusty the eraser is. How large the board is
And how stationary I am, in that one corner.

Live life with honesty and courage
Find your love and hold it tight
Help someone else, if you can

Gain insight and understanding

One school shooting in Alabama
And another in Louisiana
Here's a protest in the park
That's gone on and on past dark
There's an angry rising tide
Demanding gun-violence to subside

New beginning,
on path unknown
to lead alone,
with fearsome courage,
and dissolving hurt.
New sunrise over the mountain,
pulling into adventures,
moving with streaming water,
leaving the loss,, the art I've mastered
I have a story to tell, I survived the deadly storm.

When thunder roars in sky
everyone finds place to hide
when lightning flashes its eyes
all believe its searching for him
Yet humans build weapons
that boom as thunder in hillside
and flash great lights and flames
as lightning in faraway skies
then who holds gourd of courage?

Passerby echo the frustrations of the world
Under the bridge
Tall tales of courage
Outpours from angry souls
Yet the toughest of them all still hide
Under the bridge
Grass roots & neo-souls speak words
In the form of hyperboles
Leaving actions hidden like water
Under the bridge

Psychosomatic memories
Sweating in Indian summer
Burying bones wrapped in a golden locket
And the dirt does ruin its shine
Just as a heatwave burns autumnal beauty
And it's so very shameful
That I let my hate conquer you
I wish I had the courage
To let my heart bleed with you

For me, it's not courage
or a lack of it
that keeps me hanging
'round.
When I boil it
down, it's love in the bottom
of the kettle that keeps me
breathing.
I don't think it is
possible to love too much;
but man, I feel like I've been
breathing for a long damn time.

True courage is a firm and steady rock
Amid the quicksand of sinking despair
If you are bogged down with worry and care
And really wish to get away from there
Stand on the rock and get out of the muck

Your scarlet, sacred wings doth spread.
Plumes of fire and of gold.
Your past burnt ashes you do not dread.
Your majestic rise is long foretold.
Not bound by your destined fate,
Your glorious ascend we do await.
With courage and boldness in your eyes,
From flames of doom you do arise.
