--------------
the southerly blows
chilling the depths of the soul
icicles, hang low.
daytime turns to night
sun hidden away inside
heavy clouds of grey.
hibernating till the days
of warmth, will rise again.

Sunbeam warms my face,
drags me faintly from my dreams--
the hush of morning
covers me in tranquil vow,
a new chance to start again.
Sun peeps through curtains,
gets under my dozy skin-
day begins with hope.

**************
palimpsest of love—
laurel dreams and libido
fiddle in the hum,
winding soul, smitten and raw—
coral heart churning through tides.
lovesick soul hums soft,
coral and laurel entwined—
fiddle of the heart.

PIROUETTES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
autumn, poised, dances,
a ballerina en pointe,
forges leaves to gold,
listens for rustling music,
performs graceful pirouettes~
cherishing her earth-bound gift
crisp leaves swirl and twirl
golden whispers touch the ground
autumn's grace unfolds
As Flowers unfurl
imbibing the pearly dew
birds sing in chorus
butterflies and bees frolic
a beautiful day begins
my heart is ready
with a devotional faith
for morning glory
Heart of gold
stay so bold
soft but cold
Strong I stand
grasping sand
bound by strand
Like bent hair
utmost care
dared to flare
Freedom reigns
wrought by God
brings blest peace.
Freed* to love
heart serves well
midst care’s bliss.
Freely taught
bracing truth
faith triumphs.
*John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
dawn whispers
sun spills gold
quiet hope
a breeze stirs
clouds drift by
empty page
spark ignites
soul finds voice
my ink spills
ANGIE, my devoted dark Love
really and truly I don’t want you
UNDER MY THUMB
it hurts us both as you
PAINT IT BLACK~ makes me wanna hack
freedom’s our choice, our soul’s ardent desire
YOU CAN’T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT
we have to escape this mad matrix mire
TUMBLIN DICE ~a dangerous dire vice
let’s gallop to the Camargue without any masks
like WILD HORSES white with gypsy flasks or
fly to Mars if we choose, to booze alongside
HONKY TONK WOMEN, then snugly snooze
each a beautiful hue, feeding our Heart’s muse
on RUBY TUESDAY, we can gaily frolic in hay
THE ROLLING STONES,WE AIN’T NO CLAY !
WILD HORSES would not tear me away from you sweet one.
ANGIE our family is complete now we have a son.
They say YOU CANT ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT, but that's not true.
You are my HONKY TONK WOMAN and I need you.
TUMBLIN DICE fall just the right way holdin them UNDER MY THUMB.
My old guitar has seen better days, its still OK to strum.
I think I'll PAINT IT BLACK and play RUBY TUESDAY just wait n see.
No longer will they call us THE ROLLING STONES, cause we are a family.
Inspired by Mr. Tambourine Man
The roads yawn in their speech,
on this uncharted path tonight.
Clocks hang on walls like ghosts,
their hands spinning aimlessly.
Somewhere,
beyond the velvet murmur of the lamp’s glow,
my feet shuffle like old leaves,
sashaying to an illusory jingle.
Its carefree melody swirling with the wind,
jangling the bones of my memory.
I follow not because need summons me,
but because idleness has become a deafening sound,
since I am a stranger to sleep,
and the restless heartbeat keeps asking.
Guide me to the edge of oblivion,
where the horizon unstitches,
and the future pours into the present.
Transport me beyond reason,
where untethered thoughts can float,
mid the whispers of the tide.
I want to be in the in-between of music notes,
on the cusp before the sound,
at the pause before the waves break.
And then,
when the day begins to rust,
and the tide teases apart my shape
Let me wade behind you,
ankle deep in a strange joy
still wandering….
Inspired by Bob Dylan's 'Blowing in the Wind'
Our journey takes on different roads
we make our choices and our beds
no rest for the weary till we're all dead
Time is not our faithful ally
its intentions waywardly dubious
yet fate lays here in our hands
Don't pretend you can't hear the many cries
they're right outside your door
blow the whisle sound the horn
You can't keep turning a blind eye
Saviour of my soul is God the Son*
Offering life eternal toward blest optimization
Nourishing me so others, too, I can nurture.
1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
