the southerly blows

for Tanka-Haiku Poetry Contest-Sponsored by: Oliver Mckeithan
--------------
the southerly blows
chilling the depths of the soul
icicles, hang low.

daytime turns to night
sun hidden away inside
heavy clouds of grey.
hibernating till the days
of warmth, will rise again.

thanks for your reply-in summer when it hot we wish it is cool, when its winter and its freezing we wish it is warm.

thank you for your kind words. I`m a amateur poet and write for a bit of fun and\or use it as a way to get something off my chest, instead of keeping it all bottled in. I see PS contests as a writing prompt or as a challenge

thank you, again I enjoyed writing for one of your contests, I enjoy the challenge of writing a poetry form I`m not familiar with. The day I wrote this was exactly like this. Where I live the wind blows from the south and during winter, which we are in now, the wind is absolutely freezing
