Mind over matter's a myth,

So just mind your own matters!

What matters are the minds you're with,

If you don't mind their matters!

      Not over-delicately
        but matter-of-factly –   
          because he’d appreciate knowing 

      And so, he wondered

When they ask: the answer is, I want to be cremated 
Smoke the man from yesterday that occasionally crumbles into tomorrow
Let the wind carry the residue of inspiration until it ashes back to God
Then spread my ashes in any of the places unchecked on my bucket list 
Don’t keep any of my un-swept broom dust

Every decision matters

Life is short but long enough
to make plans and make
some dreams come true

Life is kind and generous
it offers time for second chances
and even a string of redos

Life is short but in the end
you'll be liable for what you've done
but equally for what you didn't do

Everybody Matters

Like each drop of water raises the rivers,
Like each star is light to your path,
Like each bird carries our memories,
Each of us is part of the cosmos’ story. 

I remain in the silence of the evening, wondering if it still matters now

Whether you have forgotten me or if I was meant to forget you,
Because, in the end, what truly mattered wasn't the goodbye,
But the way you stayed, honest and full of love,
Truly present when I needed someone the most,
Like a warm light embracing

Every minute matters

In a world of alternate reality
choices made lead us down
to different destinations

We zigzag leaving patterns forging pathways 
with consequences hardly insignificant
each triggering a chain reaction

What a complicated maze
of endless possibilities
with outcomes unpredictable

Every thought every action
every silence every denial
weaves in fact the fabric of our destiny

Size Matters

When I think of food and drink,
it's no surprise
the question does arise,
with booze some choose to let it breathe
and defer their bottle of wine,
I prefer to savour the flavour
and give mouth to mouth to mine.

Some say, “The glass is half full,”
with accent on the positive,
some see the glass half empty,
and focus on the

Why breakfast matters

I accidentally burned my breakfast toast.

I gave a thirty minute monologue
on this heinous crime.
To what’s left of the crust,
I stared, then cursed, then laughed
so hard the room shivered
and in the echoes—
Surprise!
I found the voice I choked
for being ‘inappropriate’—

—Time to toast.

I was startled by my cracked laughter,
as the cat groomed herself 
indifferently witnessing 
my twenties 
spent

Present vanishes in their weaves.

Welcome it with a cute ballet.

I’m at the net,
Fast hands, quick feet.
I read the game,
I take my stand.

You swing?
I’m there.
You tip?
I’ll block.

I jump high,
Land strong,
In the front,
I belong.

I control the court,
I set the tone.
In the front,
I stand alone.

They say life slips through our fingers,
but I think it slips through our toes,
