PAST LIVES

Oh, what might I have been?
Get the Ouija board, the planchette
Exhort the spirits of Cayce and MacLaine
Take a float through the baffling arcane

The past must suit male fancy
“Madam Zolta consult thy crystal clairvoyant
Bring forth those vaporous hosts
The filmy, the whispering, shapeless ghosts”

I yearn to hear some lordly title
Her quartz then flares, receding to shade
“Well, madam, be he of humble or regal fame?
Ego falters now, but give me his name”

So faint now that after breath
Seems to tremble Zolta’s damson drapes
And slowly in the middle half-sphere
Does an almost human face appear

The mouth is that first takes clear form
Those tissue lips in upward curve
Zolta’s chamber sudden quiet as a tomb
A perfumed vapor haunts the room

“I am that which once you were,”
Escapes the quivering gossamer line.
“And I the single past life you’ll see
A dainty, silly Scotch lass – tee hee”

Spiritual Journey

“When the voice and vision on the inside become more profound, clearer and louder than the opinions on the outside you have mastered your life.”

After reading those words written by Dr. John F. Demartini I knew in reality
I would soon discover within my soul how to acquire this ability

Instead of listening to the various voices of others I listen to my own
I’ve mastered my life by accepting that my choices are done alone

I learned to love what I enjoy doing and do it in an intense passionate way
Writing, reading, dancing to live music, movies, swimming on a hot day

Books that have guided me on my deep spiritual path have been many
Iyanla Vanzant’s “In The Meantime,” is one that brought me much sanity

Marianne Williamson’s, “A Return To Love,” gave me the gift of respect
“Care of The Soul,” by Thomas Moore taught me how to with others connect

Shirley MacLaine and Elizabeth Gilbert are author’s so filled with light
They inspire my spiritual growth and incite my passion to creatively write

I revel that at the age of forty two I am at peace and love who I am at last
Having faith in the universe, living in the present rather than in the past
