Riding Again

A young mind is set on her.
Do minds age like brains?
I remember

the memory has set like concrete.
She had a flat in Pamlico,
I had a bike - a Triumph T120
why should the bike type matter?

I was longitudinally mobile
inflamed
by the trip we were sharing.
Love is a drug right?

Today she arrives again
but she is getting off that throbbing bike
so her arrival is a leaving.

I check my thoughts
they are like boot prints
in a still drying concrete

and not set at all.

Swimming Experience

How nice to swim in sea, river, lake and pond!
Floating body, pressing water, moving forward
How nice to enjoy spattering, splashing sound!
Gesturing body, flapping wing, clapping hand,

I remember once while swimming with friend
To cross the local river to go to enjoy local band
Where we saw the singers sang hand in hand
In sweet voice, shaking body, hair, opening mind,

On the way home longitudinally in river we swam
All the while we gossiped and made lots of fun
Then we dove, caught fishes lately returned home
Many happy did return in every sun and moon,

Now, we swim paying money in swimming pool
And in artificial lake without lily though waterful
But funless swimming, charmless time passing
Though it is a game here with heavy contesting.

A Road Still Driven

Languished at the end of my cavity
Abandoned in neurotic presumptions
In time disappear without a whisper
The silence humming sore

A solely who lives without a role
A soul bewildered, unstable

The soul which yearn for the color of sky
Souls which howling for a vivid

Occasional rustle awaken by the rhythm of mind
Not much but longitudinally drilled within the sense

It is an art which lasting
Continuously, persistently
Though the monotony unable to kill the instincts of a poet

Even if she wanted to ...

The role of enlighten soul reborn behind the turbulence of a spirit
Once it stood as a strong independence of a privacy
Unable be asleep nor raped
It's still there evaporating my life

This road which still driven
The long journey of a poet
Forget how this start, unsure when it ends
I prefer to drive it along as long as I could live

Sesquipedality: Edward Capern At Boscobel House

... [into] the oaken box in which the hunted King was secreted....
	Capern essayed to descend...
	- Elihu Burritt, Walks in the Black Country (1868)

Suppose a poet-postman, full of good Victorian
Embonpoint, should chance to
Step into this house of hiding – a nook unknown to
Questing Roundhead spies – and think to slip
Unseen into the oubliette fitted out
In Cromwell’s days for a king; suppose this very
Poet – more portly in the midriff than Charles
Escaping from his throne – gets caught
Dead-center in the all-too-narrow trap-door gap.
Alas, for all his wriggling, he’s trapped
Longitudinally between floors. What can a poet,
Ill-versed in such historic lore, do but
Taunt the Muses with his long, many-syllabled
Yelps, unrhyming but in vivid metaphor?
