No empathy, but scorn, cause I am not
The one that meets the eligible entry
Your government won’t like the fact I’ve got
A lifetime story short which seems eccentric
It takes me to the underground train
That goes encircled in perpetual motion
One stop invites to make a change one day
I travel fast to see the roaring ocean
And when I’m there, it splashes in my face
The foam dissolves, the waves get high like never
I’m stepping back, and running water licks my trace
In a split second it will be wiped out forever.

Long story short

I can't put in words
what didn't last
closed like a door
weak like a glass
A "long story short"
spiked dry grass
that is what your love
was.

I asked about her family.
She started to say “to make a long story short.
her story went on and on and on
There was a barn, a country road, a duck pond.
It rambled and ambled,
My eyes were scrambled.
It was my third yawn.
She reiterated “to make a long story short”.
I was fighting the fight but my eyes were closing.
This was the most boringest boring speaker I had ever heard talk aloud.
I was snoring soundly the third time I heard her say,
“to make a long story short.”
The next time I will ask her to please make a short story long
or...
I will simply run screaming in the opposite direction.

Long Story Short

it's the room over there whose
       yellow walls and chrome framed
       chairs keep ringing like
a phone no one will answer

       somewhere the button is pushed
       a door slowly obeys the
       strong magnetic pull
       and opens
       someone calls me mister
       from the yellow ringing room

and the door is swinging slowly back
       a drop of silence slips
       past the soft metallic click
       through the walls the trees
       the growing distance

       in this hard geometric place
my life is a dot floating
       without mass or dimension
       a thought waiting
       for the words to arrive
death is the cause of my rebirth

A walk around the block in my parents’ neighborhood at dawn
wearing mom’s sweater and pop's sneakers with a clown hole cut out for
      toe infection
I was stopped by a cop in a cruiser
this was during the Vietnam War long hair ago
he was angry at everyone I was offended by everything
he said which way are you going I said which way are you going
so he socked me in the mouth and handcuffed me
I was arraigned on disorderly conduct and resisting arrest
my good parents came down and stood beside me before the judge
I wrote to the police department internal affairs
not for retribution but to start a paper trail
in case this cop someday bopped one of my brothers
a few months later I’m back at work in NYC
two detectives come into the city to question me
one good cop one bad cop we park in the park me in the back seat
they wanna know was I mouthy to the cop who punched me in the mouth
long story short
they leave me on a bench to eat my lunch and the charges are dropped

Long Story Short

If
I say
it’s a long
story; it’s not
a long story. I just
don’t want to tell you ...

Long Story Short

If
I say
it’s a long
story; it’s not
a long story, I just
don’t want to tell you

Long Story Short

Long story short,
I have missed my chance,
To love,
By not giving a glance,
To the girl with a open heart,
Willing to dance,
To make this distance between us,
Smaller,
So it can turn into romance,
But being me,
I nicely,
Turned her down,
Into thee,
Dark Depression,
Where I stay,
When I feel unworthy
