Late sixties cowboy films Bonanza, Rawhide
And Cheyenne – I loved these series.
Their theme songs come to mind ‘Wishing
‘My gal was by my side’( Rawhide,)
Waiting at the end of my ride
‘Keep movin,’ movin’, movin,
Just rope em, throw and brand em
Soon we’ll be living high and wide
Rawhide’.
And then there was Cheyenne ,
‘Cheyenne, Cheyenne, where will
You be campin’ tonight,
Lonely man, Cheyenne, will
Your heart stay free and light,
The wind that blows, that comes and goes,
Has been your only home,
But will the wind one day cease,
And you’ll no longer roam.’
And finally my absolute favorite
Bonanza (Little Joe) we were all in love
With him, it was all we discussed at
School break time the next day
If only it was on every night
What can I say,
The song was almost on
The hit parade.
In my mind, it will never fade!
Remember their home the Ponderosa
Ranch, ‘the stars at night
The morning light
Water in the branch,
We ride along,
Four men strong ‘
These three cowboy series bring back
Memories galore of my mid to late teenage
Years, happy moments, and sad seems
Like only a page
Ago.

I have just missed Line Gauthier’s contest,
But still posting this poem. Some words and lyrics
From all three series.

799 Ang Alamat ng Edi Wow

799.
Ang Alamat ng Edi Wow

Bakit at paano nga ba
Na ang tawag sa
Kanilang papuring kantiyaw
Ay “Edi Wow”?

Gumawa nang maayos
Gawain ay natapos
Pero di masaya
Parang kulang pa

Natalo ang kaaway
Natamo ay tagumpay
Pero kulang pa
Parang di masaya

Kung inggit o suya
Huwag nang magsalita
Huwag kang plastik!
Better huwag umimik!

Kung di mapigilan ang kaplastikan
Lumayo ka nalang sa kinaiinisan
Kung di mo tanggap ung panalo niya
Idaan sa tama ang iyong protesta

Mangusap nang direkta
Kung tapat at tunay ka
Huwag idaan sa ganyan
Ang BOSSes mong talunan

“Kayo ang BOSSes ko” – cnong nauto?
Binaliktad mo pa ang mundo!
Maraming BOSSes laban sa'tin

She's Like Wow

The party barn was in full swing
The fiddler bouncing with every bow string
The base player setting the rhythm loud
Bales of hay supporting the crowd
As I scanned the room with care
She swung her curly blonde hair
Stopping me still like glue on the ground
She danced like no-one was around
Her summer dress flowed with every swing
Through her draped hair I seen a cheeky grin
Arms in the air like first place winner
Her boots kicking up dust through sunbeam glitter
Plucking the courage up to find this beauties story
Ends up on the other end of glory
My feet just would not move
Frozen with nervous moods
Looking directly in her direction I noticed him
A tall cowboy, black boots, shirt and hat with white trim
He confidently took her by the hand
And led her infront of the band
Swirling her around and picking her up
Well that's it for me, no chance I give up
Who was this beauty that graced my day?
Was he her man or just a dance floor date?
Well I guess I'll never know
Police arrived and broke up the show
Body's running in all directions
I lost site of her glowing reflections
I still think of her and wonder in vain
Will she ever grace me with her presence again?

WOW Do I Love Thee
(with apologies to EBB)

Steady girl, let us dare not partake
of a sunsets blushing kiss unfelt
the winds of change cruel fate has dealt
the length, width, and breadth of loving’s ache.
For, I too, love thee, as coated seeds
worship the warming of summer’s blush,
rejoice in memory of your touch,
lust in the dreaminess of your needs.
Let our love sanctify past passion
elevate the joy of childhood glee
by nurturing this love we fashion
cause lost saints to smile at what they see.
Lover’s in a fire glowing ashen,
death a distant vessel on God’s sea.

“Simply come undone ~
God and we are one”
            ~ quote by poet

The power of now
enlivens heart’s wow,
birthing a bliss beat,
which is no mean feat.

To know what is meant,
by being present,
needs thought cessation,
to feel elation.

Myriad fears grout,
filling us with doubt;
sans thought, do we die
or in bliss mists fly?

In the deep sleep state,
where our thoughts abate,
we awake restful,
joyous and zestful.

This validation
is soul’s citation,
overcoming death
by love’s healing meth.

We are the subject
and thought an object,
so let us let go,
in staid stillness slow.

In thought rested calm,
we feel bliss embalm
our decaying form,
by magnetism warm.

To know we must be,
so that we can see
and reclaim soul’s light,
dancing with delight.

When we choose to walk,
path of which monks talk,
pulse of love then leads,
as ego recedes.

By our simple shift,
we let God uplift
us right here and now,
whence we feel the wow!

Premium Member Special Wow

Mimicking kittens’ “meow” and puppies’ “bow-wow”
He delights us with his witty quirks, remarkably wow.

Midst bed room of stuffed toys, there he prays
Along his supplication-gestures of worship’s praise.

Bound in his mobile wheel chair … he roams with ease
Shaking hands with people, sharing gladness’ peace.

In sign language, he manifests earnest compassion-care
Defying gloom of embittered disability-despair.

How special am I to have been entrusted with this bliss-filled child
Blessing me with God’s love* freely-expressed, graciously-styled.

*2Corinthians 13:11 …The God of love and peace shall be with you.

She said No to WoW

She said “No to WoW!”

Every day I check my mail without fail.
It’s never enough but I get gold for each sale
And a little bit of gear sold for spending my money,
Let’s me level up my professions increasing what’s good for me.

I create sometimes for the entire day
And slowly but surely I’m making my way,
To my target goal, to increase my bank.
I need every rank maxed so it’s all profit after that.

The auction house is where I spend most of my online.
I spend a few dimes and get my pocket money for my time
And time is all we have my friend.
Time to level up.
Time to spend.
Time to enjoy and rage against The Horde!

Work eats my energy.
Food is an effort.
You won’t get the best of me.
Days off are a God send.

24 hours of doing what I want.
World of Warcraft is a full time job
And doing jobs is a real chore,
But one is for fun and the other a bore.

One pays for the other and WoW is unlike any other.
I play for fun as it steals my time like a lover.
Love is something I will never have,
Because I play WoW to simply relax
And that is something she will never understand.
Somehow I’m in the wrong for being a man
And not being a man who can ask her out.
I have no time for love,
When loving WoW is grinding me down.

WOW Flavored

Written By: D. Collins 11/16/24

When I get down to business, I go to extremes.
Where everything I do, has yet to be seen.
I like it candy coated with a cherry on top.
Get it aggravated, so juices never stop.

Dig deep, sideways, and all the space between.
Put some WOW up in it if you know what I mean.
I like deep dish pizza with a side of olives.
No inhibitions and ready to scream and holler.

I like breast so soft it's like cotton candy.
Melting in my mouth. Who would blame me?
I like it sweet, mouth-watering and tart at times.
Like sipping from a cup at the top of the line.

Premium Member She's a Wow

Got this gal and her name is Cathie
Sitting beside me right now
The love of my life, my sweet darling wife
The way I describe her is WOW!

My male acquaintances scoff and guffaw
They really don't have a clue
How much dear Cathie means to this guy
An absolute dream tried and true

I'm so damn lucky to have this sweetie
The envy of all of my friends
A companion so rare with silver grey hair
To the moon and stars I ascend

The kind of love they've been writing about
Ever since Mother Earth was new
Consider myself a real lucky old dude
Think I'm one of a very few

Got this gal and her name is Cathie
Sitting beside me right now
Must've done something special back when
To deserve her marital vows
